The Virtual Workshop operates in conjunction with the Embedded Development Studio and integrates seamlessly with it. The Virtual Workshop also co-operates with a set of extensions which provide support for the different variants of the 8051 microcontroller and for custom specific features that might simulate any features external to the microncontroller.

The following paragraphs provide an overview of how the various components work together.
