C COMPILER->C Language Definition->8051 Specific Language Extensions
The compiler supports numerous 8051 specific extenions which enable maximum access to the internal architecture of the microcontroller. These include:
- Memory space qualifiers to enable you to specifically place variables in bit, data, idata, xdata and code memory areas irrespective of the selected memory model
- Direct access to the bits of variables located in the bdata memory area
- Direct access to 8 bits sfr's, 16 bit sfr's and sfr bits using C variables
- Support to allow the interrupt vector and register bank of interrupt functions to be specified
